Computer Keys
Definitely not going to submit this one, but I liked it and wanted to put it up here.
The semicolon fell in love,
Less than three,
And all his slyness shifted away.
His paramour left him too soon, though,
And he hung himself from the letter O.
The exclamation point was feeling tired,
Lost himself,
And as much as they looked,
They did not see him underfoot.
Ampersand,
Forever caught between lovers,
Took her pistol from her holster one day
And never looked back.
Someone passing by found the melted village,
Collected the evidence,
Shells of what had once been,
And pasted them to his wall,
Butterflies with pins.
