Ars Poetica

Don't smoke during a gas leak;
You don't want to start a fire.
Never touch a plate of cookies with your bare hands;
They'll get thrown away.
Take off your I.D. In the park;
Your don't want someone to follow you home.

Will we ever be able to look at a taco again?
Or run with socks?
We'll see a triangle,
Or a cup of coffee,
Smell the blueberry muffins,
And think of a single moment,
That will flash into our head like a broken television.

Someday we'll move to Africa,
Ireland,
Or a mansion surrounded by Madagascar,
Or we'll all end up in Kalamazoo,
And be our own dead poet's society.
We'll eat Cheetos and by then, we'll be good enough
To smell like syrup and waffles,
And remember, there is only make.
So write,
About that time you got stuck on Wal-Mart,
A white boy problem,
Or about English gallery,
Saving a TV show,
And an old, used jacket.
Remember:
All art is theft.
So work hard,
Work harder.
