two things: I'd use an adjective besides 'gay' to describe a smile >< and stay away from twinkles/twinkling/etc
otherwise, wonderful, I loved your imagery!

oh whoops didnt mean to add twinkle or whatever. ill change that up. i didnt mean gay as how its used today, i meant it in the form of meaning happy as its original definition.

yeah, I know, but it's gained a bad connotation when not referring to people (and sometimes even then) =/

hmm i might alter it. i just really wanted something different, and considering how it's been used a long time ago it just seemed nice. idk. you do bring up a good point though.

yeah, I used to say gay as in happy, until the third grade when I told the people at my lunch table I was 'gay' as in happy gay, but then I didn't know there was another meaning...

i just wish people wouldn't be so imature and just be more open minded to the fact words have other meanings

I really like this, Kassie! I love the ending and the beginning...and I think "gay" gives it a sort of 1920s feel. That word, used in that context, has always made me feel like that. One of the many peculiarities of Katie Joiner.
Anyway, the one line I would take out is "Maybe it’s just me, But isn’t that a much better world?"
During summer, on every single one of my poems and stories, Patrick/Maime would write "don't over explain."
The point gets across without you having that line in there. There's such a rhythm to the whole thing that it sort of takes away.
You, my dear, are brilliant by the way. And I love ee. Have his complete collected works, read it at all hours of the night... Keep writing!

thanks katie!
that's a good point, sometimes i put stuff like that in my poems without meaning to.
I really need to get back to writing more.
Haha I have one of his collections, and it's one of my favorites, I have that and another poetry book in my book bag, my friends think im a dork, I think they're crazy for not liking these wonderful writers.
